Situated in the most picturesque black & white village of Ombersley, only 3 miles outside Worcester. This former 'Coaching Inn' has a fascinating history dating back to the 17th Century, but today is family run, & provides the finest quality Food, Wine and Service expected by discerning customers. The Crown & Sandys (pronounced ‘Sands'), is derived from the link between King Charles I and his son Charles II, and the Sandys family during the Civil Wars of 1645-57. The coaching inn underwent considerable alteration around 1810 when the Marchioness of Downshire, Baroness Sandys, carried out extensive re-building & improvements in the village of Ombersley. The Inn was re-modelled with the timber framed structure enclosed within a brick 'shell' and a Coach House and Stabling built at the rear. The Crown & Sandys welcomes you with a mixture of old and new offering 5 dining areas to choose from, depending on your mood. We also boast Severn fabulous en suite bedrooms all with their own individual character and style.
